Martin Keown, an ex English soccer player becomes a soccer commentator and part time scout for his former club Arsenal since his retirement in 2005. He participated in more than 300 matches of Arsenal and successfully grabbed 9 prestigious trophies. For England national team, he performed 43 times with his debut was made when the Three Lions met France in 1992.
As we told earlier, Keown now becomes TV pundit and makes a number of contributions to several TV stations such as TV3 Ireland, Al Jazeera and BBC. When he appeared for the live TV coverage during the match between Leeds United against Arsenal in the FA Cup for ESPN, he got struck by the ball used by players on the field!
A Leeds player seemed inadvertently kicking the ball that landed right on his head during the warming up time. Well, actually it was not known whether the player did it intentionally because Keown is indeed a diehard fan of the opponent that night. Keown was surprised by the hit, but he showed to the public that he is tough. He gave his thumb up to the players on the field to indicate that he was allright.
After the game, Robbie Savage who stood next to Keown when the incident happended tweeted, “Must say Martin Keown is hard as nails took it on the chin (I mean side of head) brushed it off with a thumbs up.” Wow!
