Chinese Farmer Flies with Self-made Flying Saucer

Posted by bizarrecherry | On: Aug 23 2011

Shu Mansheng doesn’t have a degree in aerodynamics or mechanics or even electronics, but he managed to teach himself all the information he needed to build himself a flying saucer. The farmer has successfully completed the aircraft and made it fly. This home made flying object is powered with eight propellers facing down to lift up the saucer up and levitate in mid air.

Boys in NASA should learn a thing or two about this farmer from Wuhan, Hubei Province. This wasn’t his first attempt to build a propulsion system to aid him to fly in the sky. He also built two jet engines to thrust two planes into the air beforehand. Unfortunately it crashed and burned, one because of a tire fault and the other one crashed on take off.

But that didn’t stop him to reach the sky. Afterwards, he began his new project and spent  £6,000. The first model failed to fly then he went back and redesigned everything and did some more work on it. The second version was a hit and success. It flew and maintained a balance flight in midair.

Not only is he smart and dedicated with these projects, he is also planning to open a school for children who have the same interest in his projects. He said further about the matter, ”My dream is to establish a special school where kids would be able to learn all sorts of things they don’t teach in ordinary schools.”
