U.K. Beach Volleyball Players Make Their Bum An Ad Spot
Women beach volleyball stars are renting out a space on their bums for advertising deals. Inevitably, it encouraged photographers to take a shot on their bums and the advertising could be sold at the same time.
Shauna Mullin and Zara Dampney signed a deal with Quick Response code on their bikini bottoms. The specific code will bring you to a certain website on your smartphone. The code is placed on the bikini bottom to make sure people will see it. Volleyball stars are in good shape and their bum is arguably the best place to get the most attention from photographers and spectators in the match.
Betfair an on-line betting website will add an advertise code on the volleyball stars and will be shown at the London 2012 Beach Volleyball Tournament.
Andy Lulham of Betfair said, ”There is huge interest in beach volleyball and we want to ensure that our advertising campaign is seen and remembered by as many sports fans as possible.
“As far as we’re aware this is the first time QR codes have been used in in-play sports advertising and what better way to test its effectiveness than by putting them on one of the places that is likely to get photographed the most.”
Who knows maybe other women sport will follow volleyball and sell another potential space for advertising and make more money. These girls will make the most out of their bum. However, their bum is also the strong reason beach volleyball becomes so interesting to watch.
